Silver Magnolias - Women of the Years

Celebrating the Trailblazing Women of Greater Baton Rouge

As the Women's Council of Greater Baton Rouge celebrates its 14th Anniversary, we recognize the contributions of women who have embodied the spirit of leadership in the 20th and 21st centuries.

Nominations will be accepted for the 2008 Silver Magnolia Awards beginning Monday, January 28, 2008 through Friday, March 7, 2008.

The award is given by the Women's Council of Greater Baton Rouge annually to acknowledge the leadership of women whose dedication and service to mankind must not go unrecognized. The Silver Magnolia award commemorates women over the age of seventy who have played an active role in history, and whose lives and service embody the qualities of integrity, leadership and courage.

Eligible nominees must be women of the Greater Baton Rouge and surrounding areas that have made outstanding contributions in their community through their service. They should have personally demonstrated instances of being a good follower as well as a good leader and have made a positive impact on their communities.
