Helen B. Poydras

Helen B. Poydras

Mrs. Helen B. Poydras has been a strong advocate for youth and literacy for over three decades. For 22 years, she was employed as a school librarian in the public schools of East Baton Rouge Parish and served on the East Baton Rouge Parish Library Board of Control for 5 years. Mrs. Poydras says that her greatest delight is helping people and she truly lives by that crede.

Jacqueline

Jacqueline "Jackie" Airhart

Ms. Jackie Airhart worked in her father’s CPA firm for 45 years, and blazed a trail of professionalism for women in the work place. She has served in the highest positions of many professional organizations and continues to serve on several boards. She is a long-standing member of the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Executive Women International. In 1988, Ms. Airhart served as Corporate President at the international level, an honor that no other Louiaiana woman has achieved.

Joan "Kitty" Melilli

Ms. Melilli has an exceptional ability to know what to do, when to do it and a heart of compassion that is always reaching out to others. Ms. Melilli is a choir member and volunteers countless hours at the Christian Life Fellowship. Ms. Melilli is a registered nurse and has served as president of the Louisiana Association of Medical Assistants and Volunteers at the Women’s Prison.

Margerie Landry Lucas

Margerie Landry Lucas

Ms. Marjerie Lucas has been a model community volunteer with her continued involvement in the Council on Again, National Special Olympics, National Senior Olympics and Cancer Society. Ms. Lucas volunteers every Monday at the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and has received the Legion of Merit and Power of 9 awards.

Mary E. Moody

Mary E. Moody

Reverend Mary E. Moody has devoted her entire lifetime to service in the community where she was born and raised which is attested to by numerous honors, awards. Reverend Moody has given her time and energy as a former hostpital social worker. Her dictum is, “God bless you, so that you can be a blessing to others.”

Ruth L. Crawford

Since 1950, Ms. Crawford has demonstrated integrity and a dedication to the pursuit of excellence in these spheres of activity: model teacher, administrator of East Baton Rouge Parish Schools, instructor and administrator for Southern University, charter member of Messengers of Music, active member of Delta Signma Theta sorority, Girl Scout leader, and choir member at Camphor United Methodist Church.
