Each of you plays an important role in the Women’s Council of Greater Baton Rouge. Whether you have been a member for one day or several years, we need you!

As we begin a new year, we have many opportunities ahead for renewal and growth. As your incoming president, I invite you to take advantage of those opportunities within the WCGBR. Join us at the monthly meetings. Find out who we are and let us get to know you. You will expand your horizons! Come to our board meetings. Speak up and let the sound of your voice inspire us to new heights. Assist us in fulfilling our purpose and vision.

Council activities offer many opportunities to be of service within our organization and the community. Join a committee and gather new friends. We have many committees that can benefit from your ideas, energy and time.

Our 11th annual Women’s Week will be one of the highlights of our year. Volunteering to make this event possible can be a fun and rewarding experience. Whether you choose to serve on the Women’s Week Steering Committee or to be an ambassador for an activity or to help out in some other capacity, you can help us make this annual event an empowering and pleasant experience for participants.

It is with great pride and humility that I step into the role of president of the Women’s Council. I know it will be a source of personal growth for me, and your involvement in the Women’s Council can be a source of growth and renewal for you.

Albert Einstein said: “Nothing happens until something moves.” Join us in moving Baton Rouge and the women in WCGBR as well as those yet to join us.
